Gates, garages & rollers

Smart access past the front door

Side gates, electric gates, garage rollers and sheds, all on the same app as your front door. Supplied and fitted across Melbourne's north.

Beyond the door

The gate deserves better than a padlock

Most homes secure the front door properly and leave the side gate on a rusty padlock with a key nobody can find. Meanwhile that gate is how bins go out, trades get in, and kids cut through.

The McGrath ecosystem fixes the whole perimeter: a double-sided Ascot on the gate, a weatherproof keypad on the electric gate, and a Z-Chip module putting the garage roller on the same app as the front door.

One app, one access list, every way into the property.

McGrath Ascot double-sided smart gate lock
The kit

Three pieces, full perimeter

Ascot gate lock

Double-sided smart lock for gates and doors that lock from both sides. IP66, built for full weather exposure.

Weatherproof keypads

Four keypad models for electric gates, carparks and pedestrian entries, wired into your existing motor.

Z-Chip module

IP68-rated module that brings roller doors, gate motors, bollards, electric strikes and maglocks into the McGrath app via buffered relay.

Fobs for the family

Fobs, cards, wristbands and stickers for people who'd rather tap than type, including kids and grandparents.

Trades on a timer

Gardener, pool service, dog walker: each gets a recurring code for their window, revocable any time.

One app for the lot

Front door, screen door, side gate, garage: one access list, one activity log, one place to manage it.

Typical jobs

What we're fitting lately

Side gates: Ascot replacing the padlock-and-chain, family fingerprints plus a bin-night code for the neighbour.

Electric driveway gates: weatherproof keypad wired to the motor, guest codes instead of remotes that walk away.

Garage rollers: Z-Chip on the motor so the roller answers to the same app as the front door.

Sheds and workshops: weatherproof smart locks on the spaces where the expensive tools actually live.

Gate & garage FAQ
Can a smart lock survive on an exposed gate?
The Ascot is built for it: IP66 rated, which means it shrugs off direct hose jets, let alone weather. The Z-Chip module is IP68.
My gate needs locking from both sides. Possible?
That's exactly what the Ascot double-sided gate lock is for: full smart access from either side of the gate.
Can the garage roller door join the same app?
Yes. The Z-Chip connects roller doors, electric gate motors, bollards and electric strikes through a buffered relay, all controlled from the McGrath app.
What about the pool guy and the gardener?
Recurring timed codes on the gate keypad: the gardener gets Thursday mornings, the pool service gets their fortnightly window, and neither gets a key.
