Landlords & property managers

Rental property smart locks

Stop paying a locksmith every changeover. Re-code between tenants, manage trade access remotely, and keep an audit trail.

The landlord's problem

Every tenancy ends in a rekey

Keys multiply over a tenancy: tenants, partners, dog walkers, the agent's office. When it ends, the only safe move is a locksmith visit, every single time.

With a smart lock, changeover is a five-minute job from your phone: delete the old codes, issue new ones, done. The hardware never changes, so there's nothing to rekey and no keys to chase.

We fit Australian-designed McGrath locks to front doors, screen doors and existing deadbolts, and a fingerprint KeySafe on site covers emergency physical access.

Why managers are switching

Re-code, don't rekey

Changeovers cost minutes, not a locksmith call-out. Codes for the new tenant in two taps.

Deadbolt swap

The Kedron retrofits to most existing deadbolt installs, so most rentals need no new door hardware positions at all.

Timed trade access

Plumber booked for Tuesday 10-12? That's exactly when their code works.

KeySafe backup

A fingerprint key safe at the property holds an emergency key, accessible by fingerprint or code, never under the mat.

Multi-property app

Every lock across the portfolio in one app, with per-property access lists and entry logs.

Tenant-friendly

Tenants get keypad codes and fingerprints, nothing to download, nothing to lose, no lockout call-outs.

Works with

Most rental doors, as they are

Existing deadbolts: Kedron or Ashgrove swap straight in, with a stainless anti-saw bolt as the upgrade.

Front doors: Albion or fire-rated Windsor and Hamilton for standard 35-55mm doors.

Security screen doors: Ultra-Secua retrofits to most existing screen doors, paired so one code opens both doors.

Apartments: fire-rated, DDA-compliant models suit strata requirements.

Landlord FAQ
What happens between tenancies?
Re-code instead of rekey. Old tenant codes are deleted, new tenant codes issued, and the lock itself never needs a locksmith visit.
How do tradies get in for repairs?
Issue a one-off timed code for the appointment window, agreed with your tenant as usual. No key pickups, no waiting around.
What if a tenant loses access?
Codes can't be lost like keys, but if a phone dies the keypad still works, and a fingerprint KeySafe on site can hold an emergency physical key.
Is the hardware tough enough for rentals?
It's trade-grade: 300,000-cycle tested, IP65-IP66 weather sealing, stainless anti-saw bolts on the deadbolt models, and a 24-month warranty.
